Principles for a Successful Marriage

Will Your Love Last?

Any body can show love and hang close to you when everything is good, but can you still show love and hang close when things are not so good?  As we focus on  how to have a prosperous marriage in 2018, we must learn to;  “Exemplify Everlasting Love!”

Last week many of us celebrated Valentine’s Day.  I heard someone say, they don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, because they show their love every day.  I think we all know that our love needs to go beyond one day.  However, the question is; “Will your love last?”  Do your day to day actions exemplify an everlasting love?  To exemplify means to show or illustrate by example.  What are you exemplifying in your relationships?  Would God be pleased?

God loves us with an everlasting love.  Jeremiah 31:3 says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”  The world that we are living in doesn’t teach us to love with an everlasting love.  God wants our love to last and for us  to draw others closer to Him by displaying kindness.  Not just kindness, but unfailing kindness.  Help us Lord!

Relationships are challenging because no one is perfect.  We all sin and fall short.  Therefore, we all need to be forgiven and loved.  No matter what you may be going through, keep fighting with love and kindness.  I know it’s easier said then done, but God will help you.  He said that love suffers long and it is kind. (I Corinthians 13:4)

Imagine what marriage would be like if every husband and every wife displayed everlasting love and unfailing kindness. My prayer this week is; “Lord please help us to display everlasting love towards our husband, wife, children, family, friends and to those who we encounter. Teach us how to display unfailing kindness in Jesus name, amen!”

Until next week . . .

Carolyn

Thank you Carolyn for the reminder. I am praying that prayer. It is not easy when we are in such a cold world. I do know that it can be easier for Christians to show our love.

    Have a blessed day!
